The Alan Rickman Trio played with magical surprises, skilful Hogwarts wizardry but no sneers on Tuesday this week at the Slug and Lettuce, Didsbury. Craig Hanson gave us faultless beats, rides and crashes with added sizzle and brushes. Joshua Cavanagh-Brierley, as always, played solid inventive double bass, hitting those high notes with precision and new boy on the block to Creative Space, Thomas Dibb, played guitar with John Scofield slickness on numbers like “A Go Go”.
